Mooloolah River Fisheries (MRF) is a subsidiary of Superior Food Group.Mooloolah River Fisheries is located at the end of Parkyn Parade in the Port of Mooloolaba with a beautiful beachfront view. MRF is a fully integrated operation with a Local Seafood Restaurant, Commercial Fishing Vessel Marina, Unloading Wharf, Commercial Diesel Supply, Cold Storage, Ice Making Plant, Retail Seafood Market, Local Hospitality Distribution, and National and International Wholesale and Seafood Processing Facilities. Due to the continual growth of our organisation, we are currently seeking applications for an experienced Fish Filleter based in Mooloolaba, Sunshine Coast QLD.
Overview
Reporting directly to the Shift Manager, its a full time position that involves processing whole fish into fillets. No formal education is required, so it is an accessible career, provided you have relevant experience. Successful candidate must have good experience in processing and managing seafood, and stock rotation and must a good team player.
Your day-to-day routine will look something like this:
- The position will possibly entail early morning starts.
- Processing whole fish into fillets to match existing orders.
- Stock control of product processed
- Maintain the tools and equipment you will be using including knives and other equipment.
- Cleaning and trimming the carcasses to prepare them for the rest of the processing operation
- Assisting the filleting and processing team with various other duties
All about you
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role (desirable)
- Display a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understand all aspects of OH&S compliance and manual handling.
- Ability to learn a broad range of products quickly.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks.
- Forklift license (advantageous).
- Good attention to detail
