About the role

We're seeking an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead in our bustling Denny's Restaurant in Porirua, Wellington. As a Restaurant Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall operations and success of the restaurant, ensuring exceptional customer service and a great dining experience for all our guests. This is a full-time role and you'll be based primarily on-site at our Porirua location.

What you'll be doing

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including managing staff, inventory, and budgets
  • Ensure high standards of food preparation, presentation and service delivery
  • Provide exceptional customer service and handle any customer complaints or issues effectively
  • Maintain a safe, clean and orderly restaurant environment
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales, profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of servers, cooks and other restaurant staff
  • Foster a positive, collaborative work culture and lead by example
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and licensing regulations

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Restaurant Manager or in a similar leadership role within the hospitality industry
  • Proven track record of driving sales, profitability and operational excellence in a restaurant environment
  • Excellent customer service orientation and problem-solving skills
  • Strong team management and leadership abilities
  • Proficiency in inventory management, budgeting and financial reporting
  • Thorough understanding of food safety, health and safety regulations
  • Passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering an outstanding dining experience
