The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Plumbing Supervisor to lead our Plumbing and Water Operations team at the NZDF Devonport Naval Base.
You'll run the day-to-day delivery of scheduled and reactive plumbing work, oversee a skilled team, and ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to standard. This role also includes mentoring trades assistants and apprentices, helping build capability across the team.
What You'll Do
- Lead, support, and mentor the plumbing and water team.
- Oversee scheduled and unscheduled plumbing maintenance.
- Undertake plumbing work and act as technical support when required.
- Ensure work meets all quality, safety, and compliance standards.
- Manage materials, subcontractors, and equipment.
- Support reporting, scheduling, and maintenance planning.
- Act as an escalation point for enquiries from our Customer Service team
- Participate in on-call rotations as required.
What You'll Bring
- NZ-recognised plumbing trade qualification.
- 5+ years' trade experience plus proven supervisory skills.
- Experience leading teams including apprentices or early-career tradespeople.
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Possess the ability to use Job Management tools and other IT systems
- A calm, safety-focused approach with high standards of workmanship.
- Full NZ Class 1 driver's licence.
- Ability to obtain NZDF Site Clearance and pass MOJ checks.

Special Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must be able to obtain NZDF Site Clearance and successfully complete a pre-employment medical and drug test.
