Center Manager

Southern Stars Early Learning Centre is a community owned not for profit early learning centre bordering the edge of Fiordland National Park.

The Centre Manager is the leader of the Southern Stars Early Learning Centre team.  Our service exists to offer high quality teaching and inspiring learning experiences to Fiordland's tamariki and whanau. We follow the child-centred teaching and learning programmes based on the early childhood curriculum.

The role of the Centre Manager is to plan and guide SSELC's operations in order to achieve the goals of the strategic plan. This includes ensuring financial viability, legislative and regulatory compliance, continual improvement and overall business success is achieved.

This position is:

• responsible for the effective leadership and management of personnel employed at the Centre
• responsible for ensuring the strategic, operational and financial objectives of the Centre are met
• responsible for ensuring a high quality educational programme is delivered
• responsible for developing, contributing to and supporting the strategic plan of the Centre.

Skills & Attributes:

• Preferably a Teaching or Education Background with familiarity of NZ ECE legislation and regulations.
• Experience with Xero or MYOB.
• Team Player, willing to support the Kaiako as required.
• Ability to foster positive relationships between, whānau, tamariki, Kaiako and the oversight committee
