Join our team at M Social Auckland as an Assistant Conference and Events Manager, where you'll play a key role in creating seamless and memorable conference experiences for our guests.
You will combine your hospitality, customer service, admin, and leadership skills to bring events to life.
What You'll Do:
- Oversee the daily operations of the conference department, ensuring smooth execution of events.
- Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide outstanding service.
- Lead and support the conference team, ensuring high morale and excellent performance.
- Maintain compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company policies.
- Manage budgets, rosters, and financial performance to optimise revenue and cost efficiency.
- Coordinate with kitchen and F&B teams to ensure food and beverage service meets expectations.
- Ensure conference rooms are set up to hotel standards and all equipment is in working order.
- Upsell and promote additional services to enhance guest experiences.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience in conference/events management or a similar hospitality role.
- Must have Opera Cloud / or PMS experience
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team.
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and quick decision-making skills.
- A customer-first mindset with a proactive approach to service.
- Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends as required.
- Knowledge of event setups, catering coordination, and budgeting.
- Strong organisation and multitasking skills required
- Excellent communication and client service experience
- High attention to detail
- Ability to stay calm under pressure (events can get hectic)
