Subway Hobson Street has an exciting opening for a Retail Supervisor. We pride ourselves on being customer focused and providing quick and exceptional service - all whilst having fun. The Retail Supervisor role is a minimum of 30 Hours per week, with a Pay rate starting from $31.61 per hour. This role is full-time including weekends, and involves the daily running of the business.

As a Retail Supervisor, you will schedule and supervise restaurant staff and daily operations to ensure that food safety, product preparation, cleanliness and inventory control standards are maintained.

Maintaining standards of restaurant safety and security and providing exceptional guest service are a major component of this position.

Tasks and responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Daily operational tasks of cleaning, preparation & building sandwiches, and exceptional

customer service.

  • Demonstrates a complete understanding of menu items and explains them to guests

accurately.

  • Uses Point of Sale system/cash register to record the order and compute the amount of the bill. Handles cash accurately upon collection.

  • During the ship, performs Cash-In Procedure- accounting for all forms of money, bread, etc.

  • Understands and adheres to proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards during

food preparation, service and clean up.

  • Supervises food preparation to ensure that food safety and operations standards are

maintained.

  • Coordinates and supervises staff so that standards of cleanliness are maintained.
  • Manages a staff of approximately 4 to 8. Assigns, oversees and evaluates work. Recommends promotion, transfer, or termination of team members.
  • Performs paperwork duties and assists with product orders and inventory as needed.
  • Assists with planning of special events and promotions.
  • Communicates changes of food preparations formulas, standards, etc. to staff.
  • Trains newer or less experienced Sandwich Artists in their tasks and responsibilities.
  • Practices inventory control standards.
  • Inspects equipment and storage facilities throughout a shift to ensure that equipment is in

proper working order.

  • Complete delivery and organisation of stock and weekly stocktakes, including reporting on weekly inventory and sales
  • Handles customer complaints and queries
  • Promotes company policies and procedures and assists in holding the team accountable for REV reviews
  • Completes University of SUBWAY courses as directed.

Physical Requirement: Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. Position requires bending, standing, and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 kilograms frequently and up to 30 kilograms occasionally.
