Timaru, Canterbury, New Zealand Stafford Personnel Full time

Novus Glass is a recognized and trusted name throughout New Zealand, providing comprehensive vehicle glass services to domestic and commercial customers.  Their Timaru branch needs a motivated mobile customer care representative to join the team to complete fleet checks, chip repairs, and sales & service activities across the wider South Canterbury region.

Key role details

  • Timaru-based role
  • Minimum 20 hours per week
  • Scope for up to 40 hours per week in busy season
  • Full driver's license required
  • Must pass drug and alcohol screening

This role is a great mix of customer interactions and hands-on work – from cold-calling potential new customers to conducting fleet inspections for major clients, and on-the-go chip repairs for customers big and small – variety is guaranteed. The workload is dependent on demand, so the ideal candidate must be adaptable to varying weekly hours; however, there is a minimum of 20 hours per week guaranteed year-round.

Don't like being stuck in an office? This is the role for you

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Providing superior customer service to customers by phone and in person
  • Using sales knowledge to convert customer enquiries into work orders and upsell services
  • Prioritizing the customer experience ensuring excellent quality and service
  • Providing site-based services for clients, including windscreen chip repair, as well as fleet inspections, on small and large vehicles
  • Safely operating company vehicles and equipment
  • Ensuring job-related administration and record keeping is up to date and accurate within company systems
  • Ensuring the health and safety of self and others at all times

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Proven sales and customer service ability
  • Excellent personal presentation
  • Strong communication skills in person and over the phone
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a focus on quality
  • Ability to manage own schedule and maximize productivity during the work day
  • Sound physical fitness and agility – ability to move in and out of vehicles (including truck cabs), and perform the hands-on tasks required (chip repairs, fleet inspections)
  • Confident computer skills, experience using in-house database or CRM systems
  • Ability to use hand-held technology such as tablets and smartphones

What else are we looking for?

  • Results-oriented team player
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Be able to drive a company vehicle to independently complete work at client sites
  • Must have a valid, full NZ driver's license and safe driving record
  • Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening

This role will suit someone who loves delivering exceptional customer experiences, hunting down new customers, and keeping an existing client base happy. You will enjoy getting out and about throughout the region, be able to manage your own schedule autonomously (and logically), and thrive on learning new skills.

Along with the base hourly pay rate, there is a performance bonus up for grabs each month, as well as commission on the upselling of products - so this role is perfect for someone who enjoys a challenge and a target to achieve
