SUNDAYS is a warm and welcoming neighbourhood restaurant set in a beautifully restored 1933 church, serving up Italian-inspired food (we pizza), handcrafted cocktails, and genuine hospitality in Country Lane, Queenstown. We're known for our community vibe, our commitment to simple done well, and a team culture grounded in collaboration, kaizen (continuous improvement), and having a damn good time doing what we do.

We're excited to introduce a newly created Bar Manager position — a hands-on leadership role designed to elevate our beverage program and guest experience. You'll take charge of crafting creative cocktails, managing beverage costs, mentoring the bar team, and delivering consistently exceptional service. As the driving force behind our bar, you'll take ownership of operations, elevate our beverage program, and help shape the energy and culture that makes SUNDAYS special.

As our Bar Manager, you'll:

  • Lead daily bar operations – from prep and service to stock management and cleanliness
  • Develop and execute creative yet profitable cocktail and beverage menus
  • Oversee ordering, supplier relationships, and cost control
  • Deliver SUNDAYS' 6-star hospitality every shift
  • Ensure our caravan bar is always guest-ready for functions and events
  • Train, mentor, and motivate the bar team
  • Manage digital menus (Me&U) to optimise sales, promotions, and high-margin products
  • Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager and leadership team to drive consistency, systems, and team performance

What we're looking for:

  • Proven bar experience in a high-volume or premium hospitality environment
  • Strong cocktail, spirits, wine, and beer knowledge – and a love for local
  • Sharp eye for detail, systems, and profitability
  • Natural leader with excellent communication, organisation, and people skills
  • Someone who thrives on collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement.
  • Current Duty Manager's Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
