Dana SAC New Zealand is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Workshop Foreman to lead our workshop operations and support our continued expansion.

About the Role

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will oversee day-to-day workshop activities, ensuring safety, quality, productivity and strong communication across the team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor and develop tradespeople, apprentices and trade assistants
  • Ensure all builds, assemblies and repairs meet quality and OH&S standards
  • Manage scheduled servicing and general maintenance of workshop tools, machinery, and equipment
  • Plan and prioritise daily workload to meet production schedules
  • Conduct/oversee inspections, pressure tests and final checks
  • Confirm availability of parts, drawings and work instructions before job start
  • Maintain accurate production and service reports
  • Champion workshop organisation, housekeeping and 5S practices
  • Support continuous improvement, cost-efficiency and workflow optimisation

About You

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Proven experience leading a mechanical workshop or service department
  • Trade qualification (Cert III Mechanical Trade or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing/service processes and OH&S
  • Ability to read drawings, interpret work instructions and troubleshoot issues
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Experience with Brevini or similar mechanical products (advantage)
