We're seeking a dedicated Roller Operator to join our dynamic team in Tauranga for an immediate start, where you'll play a pivotal role in creating durable, smooth roadways that stand the test of time. What You'll Do:As an Asphalt Roller Operator, you'll be the backbone of our paving operations, ensuring every project exceeds expectations. Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Operating heavy rolling machinery to distribute, break down, and compact asphalt with precision and efficiency.
  • Utilising and maintaining breakdown and finish rollers to achieve flawless results.
  • Following specified rolling patterns to guarantee smooth, even asphalt compaction on every job.
  • Monitoring asphalt temperature and roller drums to optimise performance and quality.
  • Conducting daily maintenance and safety checks to keep equipment in top condition and prioritise a hazard-free worksite.

Additional Opportunities:

  • Assisting with a variety of paving tasks to broaden your expertise and contribute to diverse projects.
  • Supervising or mentoring junior staff, fostering a collaborative team spirit and leadership growth.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience operating asphalt rollers in a construction or civil engineering setting.
  • Be able to pass both a pre-employment Drug Test and Police Check
  • Physical fitness for outdoor, hands-on work in varying weather conditions.
  • A valid driver's licence and WTR endorsements are essential. (Class 2 preferred)
  • Reliable, team-oriented mindset with excellent attention to detail.
