What's the job?

Responsible for meeting success in the Crowne Plaza meetings, conference, and event segment through managing the Crowne Plaza Meetings Cycle. This role is responsible for securing business from allocated quotes, planning meetings and events, coordinating with hotel operations, and client liaison before, during, and after each meeting and event. Due to the nature of this role, Events & Conferences Planner is required to be flexible to work any day of the week.

Your day-to-day​​

  • Manage group blocks in Opera PMS.
  • Manage events, conferences, and sales delivery through Delphi software.
  • Prepare Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Facilitate post-contract site inspections with clients.
  • Manage daily billing and control pre-event deposits and adhere to CSA standards and requirements.
  • Continuously refine the handover and planning process with commercial teams to improve efficiency and revenue capture.
  • Take full ownership of the client handover from the C&E commercial team, ensuring every requirement is documented and reflected in the BEO.
  • Collaborate with Operations Manager and Conference Sales Manager to meet revenue targets.
  • Promote hotel facilities, with a focus on meeting spaces.
  • Coordinate with key departments (e.g., F&B, Executive Chef, Reservations) to ensure event success and budget alignment.
  • Help with F&B administration tasks when needed.
  • Assist with the organisation of restaurant social events on an ad hoc basis.
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing, confirming details with the client post-event.
  • Promote and support OHS&W policies and procedures.
  • Support and promote hotel sustainability initiatives to enhance financial performance.
