Oral Health Therapist – Bush Dental | Happy Smiles Specialist Paediatric Dentistry

Christchurch Central | 3 Days a Week | $48 – $57 per hour

We are looking for a caring and confident Oral Health Therapist to join our friendly team at Bush Dental | Happy Smiles Specialist Paediatric Dental Practice in central Christchurch.

About the Role

  • 3-4 days per week (flexible days available)
  • Would suit someone with a genuinely caring personality and a strong interpersonal relationship skillset
  • Treat a wide range of patients including under-18s – must be confident and comfortable working with children
  • Provide exceptional preventive care and oral health education
  • Work alongside a collaborative team in a relaxed, family-oriented setting
  • Use modern digital systems and technology in a bright, fully equipped clinic
  • Please consider this before applying - Previous OHT moved to Aussie for family reasons (both patients and the team liked and loved her for what she brought to the service) - this also means our friendly clients and our team are looking for someone with - specifically around how you approach people in general - caring, friendly, non-judgemental attitude towards people, always curious for learning, strong personal and professional values and a contagious smile

About You

  • Registered as an Oral Health Therapist with the Dental Council of New Zealand
  • Ideally 1–2 years' experience (new graduates with the right attitude and aligned with practice values are encouraged to apply)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Gentle, patient-focused, and passionate about preventive care
  • Confident working both independently and collaboratively
  • Current Working With Children check (WWC) - required only at the time of employment
  • Flexible start date - January 2026
