We work as one team to provide tertiary and secondary Obstetrics and Gynaecology care with primary maternity care being a midwifery led service. The service provides an integrated mix of inpatient/outpatient/day patient and domiciliary services.

Gynaecology surgery is undertaken at both Wellington and Kenepuru Hospitals with clinics being delivered at Wellington, Kenepuru and Kāpiti Health Centre. We provide a Gynaecology Oncology (GO) centre with outreach clinics and weekly regional MDMs.

With around 3161 births per year there is ample opportunity for our Registrars to gain experience in the full spectrum of obstetric care from ante-natal to post-natal at Wellington. Primary maternity birthing units (midwifery led) are based at Kenepuru Hospital and Kāpiti Health Centre.

Ambulatory services include a comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound service to support our tertiary Maternal Foetal Medicine service, Gynaecologic Oncology, Women's Health acute assessment service and a wide range of outpatient Obstetric and Gynaecological services. There is a regional counselling and termination of pregnancy service.
