The Role

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join our close-knit team. Working directly alongside the company owner and project manager, you'll play a key role in our operations while enjoying a collaborative, hands-on work environment where your contributions make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for commercial foundation projects
  • Manage contract administration from pre-construction through to final account settlement
  • Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and measurement of foundation works
  • Monitor project costs and provide regular financial reporting
  • Negotiate variations and claims with clients and subcontractors
  • Work closely with the owner and project manager to ensure cost-effective project delivery
  • Support business development activities and maintain strong client relationships
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, conditions, and industry standards

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, or relevant experience
  • 3-5 years' experience in quantity surveying within New Zealand, preferably in civil works or foundations
  • Strong knowledge of measurement principles and construction contracts (NZS 3910/3915 preferred)
  • Proficiency in industry software including Excel, estimation software, and project management tools
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently in a small team environment
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites
