PLC Programmer

We are currently seeking an Intermediate Automation PLC Programmer to join a 3-person team for a full-time role in the Tauranga area , working for an exciting company with a leading IoT agri product in New Zealand.

• Researching, designing, implementing, testing, commissioning, and documenting new hardware and software systems.

• Programming of PLC and HMI used for the RICADO software.
• Providing remote and onsite technical support
• Being a member of the after-hours on-call team.
• Troubleshooting and debugging performance issues
• Working with vendors and hardware suppliers to implement and support systems
• Supporting the hardware engineering team and software team.
• Following industry-standard processes and procedures
• Consulting with departments or customers on project status and proposals.
• Provide training to users and fellow staff members

• 2+ years of PLC programming and electrical engineering
• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics
• Knowledge and interest in computer systems, servers, cloud systems and the latest technologies
• Familiarity with a wide range of hardware devices, display, IoT devices and network technologies
• Strong understanding of wireless, cellular, Bluetooth, Lorawan and telemetry solutions.
• Strong understanding of embedded software solutions and industrial PLC's
• Excellent customer service skills
• The ability to learn new technologies quickly
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well individually and in a team environment
• Strong analytical and strong creative problem-solving skills
• The ability to communicate complex procedures to other colleagues
