Summerset Whangarei is preparing to open its brand-new care centre – a premium facility set in a beautiful, established village that will soon be the heart of aged care in the region. This is a unique opportunity to lead from day one, help build your own team, and shape the culture and care standards in a state-of-the-art environment.
Job DescriptionReporting to the Care Centre Manager, this role will help to provide leadership, support, and clinical guidance to our incredible Care Centre team.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist in providing clinical guidance, day to day direction, and leadership to the Care Centre team.
- Working closely with Care Centre Manager to help support safe operation of the care team.
- Active involvement with the Summerset quality management programme.
- Consult with residents and their advocates to establish shared expectations of care and service delivery
- Acting as a clinical liaison for health care team members with a key focus on the primary care team, pharmacists, podiatrists, physiotherapist, dietitian, and specialist services that are required for individual residents.
This is a full time role between Monday and Friday with a commencement date of January 2026.

QualificationsAbout You:
You'll bring experience in a clinical environment with a deep understanding of the aged care sector and Te Whatu Ora standards. You'll be an experienced Clinical Nurse Lead with solid aged care experience in New Zealand.
You'll also bring:
- A Registered Nurse with a current NZNC practising certificate and your PDRP achieved to level 2-4
- A high degree of clinical expertise ideally in the aged care sector
- Computer literacy including clinical care systems
- A team player with a strong commitment to be a positive influence, coach and mentor
- A skilled communicator with a proven ability to build positive relationships.
