As our demand continues to grow, we're looking for five dedicated and hardworking Butchers to join our Auckland team.

Mō te tūranga mahi | About the role

As a butcher, you will be part of a fast-paced team and assist in providing high-quality meat cuts. You will be a confident Butcher, matching qualification and/or experience is beneficial.

Key Details:

  • Position: Permanent, Full-Time
  • Pay rate: $28 to $30 per hour
  • Location: Ihumatao Road, Mangere, Auckland
  • Shift Timings: 4:00 am to 12:30 pm, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cut meat to separate muscle, fat and tissue from around the bones.
  • Cut specialised cuts, deboning and trimming of various meat types.
  • Wrapping and packing of meat cuts and products.
  • Move carcasses to boning table for preparation and work on machinery for processing.
  • Pack processed stock into cartons for storage.
  • Ensure that the stock is labelled correctly and packed as per Operational SOPs.
  • Check to ensure all meat is stored properly and that stock is rotated.
  • Maintain high standards of Food safety, Quality, and Health and Safety at all times.

The successful applicant will have the following attributes:

  • A Trade qualification or relevant butchery experience is beneficial.
  • Skill and experience in cutting meat and preparing standard meat cuts.
  • Proven skills in Beef Boning or Slicing.
  • Around 2-3 years of hands-on experience as a Butcher.
  • Evidence of a referenced, stable work history.
  • Be physically fit and able to lift/move heavy items.
  • A proven commitment to Safety & Wellbeing and Food Safety in the workplace.
  • Organised, ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
