Transport Loader

As a Transport Loader, you'll play a key role in loading and unloading freight using a forklift in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This is a great opportunity to put your forklift expertise to work while being part of a supportive and high-performing team.

Working Hours:

• Minimum of 40 hours per week
• Afternoon shift, Monday- Friday: 1pm - 9:30pm

In this role you will be responsible for:

Ensure that freight is loaded and unloaded in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with OSH and Land Transport regulations.

Freight is placed in the appropriate bays.

Efficient turn-a-round of vehicles by prompt loading and unloading.

Nil fines due to improper loading.

Ensure that freight and documentation are checked into store, all freight leaves the depot must be manifested.

Over/under and damages accurately dealt with and recorded.

Communicate to manager any urgent or special deliveries.

Report all possible delivery delays or issues to manager.

The facility is treated with respect and any maintenance requirements reported to the manager immediately.

Forklift, trucks, and additional company vehicles are treated with respect and used in the manner intended.

All consumables ie shrink wrap, knives, tape etc to be used for company purposes.

To conduct and present oneself in a professional and always acting with integrity.

Uniform provided by company to be always worn.

Always follow company policies and procedures, specific site rules and TMP.

Ensure accurate and timely reporting, recording and investigation of all incidents and hazards.

Active involvement in rehabilitation and return to work practices.

Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as and when requested.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience working within transport industry.
• Freight loading experience.
• Valid Forklift license.
• Certificate in Warehousing/Logistics/Distribution.
• Attention to detail.
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 25kg
• Reliability and time management.
• Understanding of warehousing and logistics.
• Great written and spoken communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
