We are part of Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, the overarching organisation for New Zealands national health service. HNZ leads the day-to-day running of the health system, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels.

About the role:

Adult Rehabilitation and Health of Older People (ARHOP) provides specialist inpatient/ outpatient services rehabilitation and community based services, the demands for which will continue in the future.

Ward 23, a 28 bed ward, has an Adult Rehabilitation model of care with a patient focus of stroke rehabilitation and other neurological conditions for younger and older people, who often have multiple or complex needs. In the future there will be an opportunity to extend the model of care with the development of the Integrated Stroke Service and other conditions requiring rehabilitation.

Health Care Assistants are our RNs right hand people. Assisting them with day-to-day tasks of caring for our patients, this is a unique opportunity for you to contribute to our vision of delivering quality patient care.

The successful applicant will get the opportunity to work with different patients and families supporting the nurses. As aHealth Care Assistant you will be required to provide clinical care to our patients. Our new team member must also be highly organised, able to prioritise, have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy building relationships with our patients.

Essential:

  • 1+ years Health Care Assistant experience in New Zealand
  • Level 4 NZ Health Care Assistant certificate or equivalent (to be assessed)
  • Good communication skills
