Are you looking for an opportunity to explore your career in Anaesthesia? Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Northland are looking for a non-training Anaesthetic Registrar to start in February 2026.

We are seeking a keen Anaesthetic Registrar in our friendly hospital to make a quota of eight Registrars. It is expected the successful candidate has a minimum of 12 months full time equivalent anaesthetic experience. Northland has 12-month accreditation with The Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.

Although this is nominally a non-training position, your experience will be identical to that of our training registrars. Prior registrars have gained recognition for their time with us to count towards training.

Whangarei Hospital has 9 operating theatres and is the largest hospital in Northland, providing secondary care services for the region, supported by four regional hospitals. Northland covers an area of 12,600 square kilometres and has a population of approximately 201,000. As a region Northland is renowned for its beautiful beaches and relaxed lifestyle.
