Telehealth Doctor – Evening & Overnight Support for Urgent Care
Join Tāmaki Health as a Telehealth Doctor and play a vital role in supporting our community & reducing wait times across our busy clinics. This unique role supports our evening and overnight services and in-person clinicians by consulting with patients who have been triaged by a nurse and are identified as suitable for telehealth, ensuring timely, safe, and efficient care.
This is an excellent opportunity for doctors based overseas within favourable time zones — or New Zealand–based clinicians outside of Auckland — who are looking for flexible, remote clinical work within a well-supported environment.
About the Role
We are seeking Telehealth Doctors to provide virtual clinical support across 7 nights a week, from 8:00 pm to 1:00 am NZT.
In this role, you will see Urgent Care walk-in patients who have been triaged by a nurse and identified as appropriate for virtual consultation, you will be managing patients who are present in a physical clinic with on-site teams of clinicians.
We are open to Flexible arrangements depending on your availability to cover sessions as per the above.

You'll work collaboratively with on-site clinical teams, providing timely assessments and management plans for patients streamed to you via telehealth.
You should be someone who brings empathy, clinical excellence, and strong decision-making skills to your practice.

You Will Need to Have
- Must hold a current registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Experience in urgent care, acute medicine or General Practice
- Current Medical Indemnity Insurance
- Strong technological skills using different software and confidence consulting via telehealth
- Familiarity with MedTech 32, MedTech Evolution, or similar EMR systems (advantageous)
- A commitment to providing equitable and culturally safe care, with understanding of Māori tikanga, kawa, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi
