About the role:

As a Legal Counsel, you will be a trusted advisor to the business, delivering pragmatic, commercially-focused legal advice. You'll handle a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including contracts, deals, and dispute resolution, while gaining deep exposure to the fast-paced energy sector.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide proactive legal advice, identifying and mitigating risks before they escalate.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, supporting deal structuring and negotiation strategies.
  • Assist in dispute resolution and legal proceedings to secure effective outcomes.

About you:

  • LLB and current New Zealand practising certificate.
  • Minimum of 5 years PQE.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to deliver practical, business-oriented solutions.
  • Proven experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Exposure to the energy sector, procurement, or property law is highly advantageous.
