To support us as we embark on an exciting period of Site development and growth, we're seeking a Civil & Construction Manager to join us on a fixed term contract until around March 2028 based at our Wiri manufacturing site in South Auckland, where we produce our chips and bars (including Snackachangi, ETA Ripples and Nice & Natural).

The role requires extensive expertise in managing complex construction projects on live operational sites, with a strong emphasis on safety, proactive stakeholder engagement, and minimizing disruption to ongoing operations. The role will be responsible for managing all civil and construction activities, including demolition, site preparation, structural works, and the coordination of contractors, and cost-effective project delivery.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Leading all civil and construction activities including - demolition, earthworks, structural/ external works
  • Primary point of contact between contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders, facilitating seamless execution of the construction phase while maintaining alignment with project objectives.
  • Oversee all on-site construction activities and ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
  • Manage budgets, approve expenses, and report on any cost differences.
  • Coordinate with design, engineering, and operations teams to ensure constructability and integration with manufacturing requirements.
  • Provide safety leadership for the Project Team
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure schedule and quality are maintained
  • Implementing robust site management systems including document control, quality assurance, and progress reporting.
  • Providing regular communication/ construction progress updates to relevant stakeholders (Board/ project managers)
  • Provide support during the commissioning phase and facilitate the smooth handover of civil assets to operational teams.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Minimum 8 years' experience in site-based construction management, preferably within FMCG / Construction environments.
  • FMCG experience, with exposure to food and beverage production equipment preferred.
  • Proven track record in brownfield site development and demolition, managing projects on live operational sites.
  • Strong understanding of NZ building codes, environmental regulations, and HSE standards.
  • Experience managing contractors and multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring accountability and high-quality delivery.
  • Experience with tendering, contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and dispute resolution.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and reporting systems to monitor progress, budgets, and critical milestones
  • Demonstrated capability to manage all aspects of project management and delivery, including health, safety, and environmental compliance, contract management, and industrial relations.
