New Zealand Northpower Full time

If you're someone who enjoys hands on work, solving
problems, and learning how things work, this could be the career path for you.
We're looking for a motivated Trainee Electrical Fitter to join our team and
help keep the electrical network running safely and reliably for our
communities.
As a trainee, you'll learn how to service, maintain, and
support the equipment that keeps the network operating. You'll be working
alongside experienced Electrical Fitters who will teach you the ropes from
basic electrical tasks and mechanical work, right through to diagnostics,
testing, and repairs. You'll take part in block courses and practical training,
building your skills step by step until you're fully competent.

Role Responsibilities:
-Carrying
out prescribed electrical tasks under supervision

-Learning
to service and maintain network distribution equipment

-Keeping
accurate records and completing required paperwork

-Helping
the team meet performance goals and customer expectations

-Looking
after tools, vehicles, and PPE to ensure everything is in good working
order

-Supporting
a strong safety culture—if it's not safe, it doesn't happen

Experience:
You don't need to be fully trained yet this is a development
role. What matters most is your attitude and willingness to learn. We're
looking for someone who has:

-A
clean driver licence

-At
least 4 years of secondary education

-An
interest in mechanics, electronics, or hands-on technical work

-A
logical approach to problem-solving

-Good
communication skills and an eye for detail

-The
ability to work independently and as part of a team

-A
commitment to safe work practices and doing the job properly
