Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
As a full time 80 hours per fortnight Theatre Orderly, the main function will be transferring patients around the hospital in a safe and timely manner. Possible shift structure 12.00pm - 8.30pm first week, 8.30am - 5.00pm second week.
Some of the other duties and requirements are:
- To distribute products, supplies and equipment throughout the hospital
- Ensures the safe delivery of our patients belongings to their rooms
- Assists the Theatre team with the lifting and positioning of patients as directed
- Regularly checks and changes oxygen cylinders
- Making sure hospital deliveries are transported to the correct area, along with relevant documentation
- Previous experience working in a hospital would be highly regarded, but not essential as full training will be given

- Great communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with staff and patients

- You must be physically fit because you will be on your feet for the majority of the day
- Strong enough to be able to lift, as there will be lifting involved
- Strong commitment to OSH and infection control policies and procedures
