Role Overview:

Responsible for administering IBM AIX systems, managing PowerVM/LPAR environments, automating operations, and ensuring high availability and performance across IBM Power Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and support IBM AIX OS on Power Systems.

Handle LPAR/PowerVM configuration and administration.

Develop UNIX shell scripts (ksh/bash) for automation.

Configure and troubleshoot TCP/IP networking.

Perform system deployments and updates using NIM.

Monitor and tune system performance.

Support backup/recovery (mksysb, TSM).

Core Skills & Experience:

Strong AIX installation, patching, and troubleshooting.

Hands-on with IBM Power Systems hardware.

Expertise in PowerVM virtualization & LPARs.

Proficiency in NIM, performance tuning, and system monitoring.

UNIX shell scripting (ksh/bash).

Understanding of TCP/IP networking.

Familiarity with IBM support tools (FLRT, PAM).

Backup and recovery tools knowledge
