About the role

PRIMARY FUNCTION

To assist in the operation of a designated section of the kitchen following the Head Chefs guideline - providing maximum quality in order to satisfy customer expectations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The job duties will include the following:

Advising if food supplies are running low

Preparing good quality of dishes served

learning techniques and cooking procedures

preparing and cooking food

Adhering to hygiene regulations

Regulating temperature of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment

Storing and maintaining food

Maintaining the kitchen to the highest standard of cleanliness

Maintain food safety and sanitation standards

Ability to work effectively in a busy environment

Handle and store ingredients and food

Adhere to all company policies and procedures

Any other duties the Executive Chef / Head Chef or Sous Chef may reasonably require.

PREFERRED COMPETENCIES

TECHNICAL

New Zealand Certificate (Level 3 or 4) in Cookery, or equivalent.

OR

A minimum of 2 years working in a professional kitchen.

PREFERENCE GIVEN TO EXPERIENCE IN MIDDLE EASTERN / TURKISH CUISINE

Hours

A minimum of 30 hours which may scale to 45 hours in the Summer depending on your availability.
