Disability Support Team Lead

As a Kaitātaki (Team Leader), you'll lead a team of Kaiawhina (Support Workers) to provide high-quality, culturally grounded support to tāngata whaiora (people we support). You'll play a key role in managing day-to-day operations in one of our whare (homes), ensuring tāngata are supported to live with dignity, independence and connection.
This is a hands-on leadership role – ideal for someone who can bring out the best in others and is open to learning and working in a kaupapa Māori environment.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading a team to deliver safe, respectful, and tāngata-centred support
- Coaching, developing and supporting Kaiawhina in their roles
- Overseeing daily operations including staffing, health & safety, rosters and whare maintenance
- Supporting the development and implementation of tāngata plans, goals, and routines
- Ensuring tikanga Māori values are upheld in every aspect of whare life
- Building strong relationships with tāngata, whānau and community partners
- Ensuring compliance with legislation, policy, and best practice

What you'll bring:
- A least 3 years' experience in disability, health, aged care or social services
- Proven leadership or team supervision experience
- Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
- A calm, professional and supportive approach
- Openness to learning about kaupapa Māori values and ways of working
- NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 4).
- Full driver's license and access to reliable transportation
