Our client, a well-established construction firm specialising in Civil Structures, Water and Wastewater is looking for a Project Engineer to join their team.

The Role

This is a full-time position Mon-Fri and is a predominantly site-based role.

  • Supporting the Project Manager in the management of construction projects
  • Managing budgets, quality standards and safety on site
  • Building strong relationships with site staff, subcontractors and clients
  • Project Administration, progress claims, variations and contractual claims
  • Quality Assurance & Auditing
  • Risk identification and mitigation
  • Supply chain management
  • Managing and resolving subcontract issues
  • Ensuring work is completed inline with client and company specifications
  • Staffing co-ordination and allocation
  • Planning
  • You will deal with a variety of projects but predominately in the Civil Structures, Water and Wastewater sectors

What we are looking for

  • Our Ideal candidate would have at least 5 years' experience of Civil Structures, Water and Wastewater projects
  • An experienced Project Engineer is preferred but we are happy to consider established Site Engineers ready to take the next step in their career
  • Great commercial and financial acumen
  • Solid negotiation skills
  • Great Leadership & people skills
  • Must drive continuous improvement on site
  • Fantastic IT Skills, mainly Microsoft Suite
  • Must have great technical knowledge of civil engineering projects
  • Must be great at building and managing relationships both internal and external
  • Must be presentable and be able to deal with customers.
  • Good knowledge of H&S
  • NZCE diploma or BE degree, or equivalent
  • Must hold rights to work in NZ.
