Sherlock Landscaping has been in the Nelson Tasman area for over 15 years and has a team of 11 dedicated people. Each person brings their own strength and skills to the team so everyone can learn from each other to enhance their skills. We are looking for a qualified experienced full-time landscape foreperson to join our team and add value. We undergo a mix of Residential & Commercial landscaping, focusing mainly of the landscaping side and not so much on the ongoing maintenance. This ensures us a good mix of projects and variety for our team, be it full landscaping for a new build, to revamps of an existing landscape and everything in between.
Duties will include:
Site set up and daily running of the job and team onsite including organizing tools, materials & machinery.
Ensuring H&S standards are being met and documentation completed.
Reporting to senior Foreman to maintain workflow.
Assisting the Senior Foreman in team training and development.
Timber Construction – Decks, fences, steps, planter boxes, screens, retaining etc.
Plants – Planting & irrigation.
Ground Preparation – Light excavation work, lawn, garden, paths.
Concrete work – Paths, edges, pavers, blocks, bricks, tiling etc
Requirements:
Full class 1 driver's license.
Proven experience in a landscaping role. Minimum of 5 years.
Proven experience as a landscaping foreperson. Minimum of 2 years
Landscaping Qualifications would be an advantage.
Strong knowledge of all hard landscape / construction practices.
Able to set up for decking, retaining (timber & block), paving, tiling, concrete paths etc
Experience operating an excavator (1.8T)
Physically fit with a positive attitude.
Willing to chip in on the barrow to help out the team when needed.
Follow health & safety standards and policies.
References and proof of skills / ability will be requested.
NZ Residency or a valid Work Visa is essential.
