About the role
Griffiths is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Diamond Driller to join our team in Wellington CBD, Wellington. This is a full-time permanent position that will play a crucial role in supporting our geotechnical and geoscience operations.
What you'll be doing
- Safely and efficiently operating diamond drills to extract core samples from geological formations
- Maintaining and servicing diamond drilling equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Accurately logging and documenting all drilling activities and core sample data
- Collaborating with geologists and engineers to interpret geological data and inform decision-making
- Adhering to all health, safety and environmental regulations and procedures
- Providing on-site training and mentoring to junior drilling personnel
What we're looking for
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Geotechnical Diamond Driller in the drilling industry
- Demonstrated expertise in operating and maintaining a range of diamond drilling rigs
- Strong understanding of geological formations and the ability to interpret core sample data
- Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills
- Commitment to safe work practices and a proactive approach to health and safety
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and provide training and guidance to others
