he Role
The Civil Segment Portfolio Manager Role is focused on orchestrating the creation and demonstration of comprehensive customer centric solutions to meet the needs of the Civil industry segment, with delivery by one or more product development teams. This role is essential for aligning the efforts of multiple teams to achieve a common objective as the Seequent and Bentley portfolios and overall business grows in complexity through ongoing development initiatives, partnerships, acquisitions and platform expansion with Seequent Evo and Bentley's Infrastructure Cloud.
Reporting to the Civil Segment Director, you will be responsible for translating the overall Segment strategy into a portfolio strategy with clear solution requirements for product teams to translate to product requirements and roadmaps. This may include requirements for both Seequent and Bentely portfolio, to achieve the desired end-user solution. Your domain knowledge at the industry level makes you an invaluable resource for product teams to more effectively connect them with, and grow their understanding of, the needs of the industry. Equally your product insights will enable you to connect the dots unlocking the potential of the wider portfolio when delivered as a segment focused solution.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Discover, Validate and Document user needs and use cases for the target segment with a focus on cross portfolio workflows together with the affected product teams e.g. Civil Infrastructure Project Delivery solutions that factor in both Bentley civil engineering and Seequent subsurface personas
- Map the competitive portfolio and solutions landscape to articulate the differentiation of Seequent and Bentley solutions in market context
- Support customer engagement by delivering end-to-end solution demonstrations and support validation of tech previews together with platform success, including travelling for face-to-face customer engagement from time to time.
- Co-develop clear solution requirements with Seequent and Bentley product teams so that their coordinated cross portfolio solution development optimises the network effect from our ecosystem of products.
- Support solution go-to-market through appropriate channels and regions with value driver knowledge and solution demonstration content creation together with segment marketing.
- Provide inputs for commercial model and pricing development of new and enhanced offerings for segment and product teams.
- Identify competencies necessary for customer-facing teams and communicate any resource gaps, so Bentley and Seequent can plan ahead and ensure the appropriate resources are available at the appropriate time relative to solution innovations.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in civil infrastructure projects or asset management
- Bachelor (or greater) level degree in a relevant field
- Strong product knowledge of solutions in the Seequent Segment and related Bentley Product portfolio (and/or relevant competitors) would be a distinct advantage
- Outstanding communication skills across different work cultures and time zones
- Ability to co-opt support and mindshare from various stakeholder groups
- Drive and tenacity to achieve an outcome
- Readily able to translate the understanding of a problem space into requirements for input for commercial model and product developments.
- Ability to learn new products and grasp workflow concepts and capabilities.
Additional Information
This is a Hyrbid position working out of one of our Australian or New Zealand offices. As a global position some work may be required outside regular 9-5 working week to engage with internal or external groups in other time zones.
Some domestic and international travel is required to visit client sites, attend events or engage with internal teams or workshops.
