Restaurant waitstaff

The primary purpose of this role is to contribute to the overall success of the restaurant by delivering exceptional service, maintaining high standards of food quality and safety, and ensuring a positive and memorable experience for every guest. All team members are expected to uphold the values and reputation of Saigon Centre Vietnamese Restaurant.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Welcome guests upon arrival, manage the reservation system, and seat guests accordingly.
• Manage the waitlist and provide accurate wait-time estimates.
• Answer telephone calls, take reservations, and handle inquiries.
• Greet guests warmly, present menus, and explain daily specials.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them promptly to the kitchen/bar.
• Serve food and drinks correctly, ensuring order accuracy and presentation standards.
• Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the meal, anticipating needs and addressing concerns.
• Process payments and handle cash/credit transactions accurately.
• Reset and clean tables efficiently for the next seating.
• Bid guests farewell and invite them to return.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages following standard recipes.
• Check identification to verify legal drinking age.
• Maintain the bar area, including cleaning, stocking, and inventory control.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not always required for entry-level positions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Strong teamwork and multitasking abilities.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items (e.g., empty wine bottles), and move quickly.
• For serving/bartending roles: knowledge of responsible alcohol service.

Schedule:

• Hours will vary based on business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility is essential.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $23.50 – $24.00 per hour
