The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer (Contract) at TracPlus, you will spearhead the development of cutting-edge features for our modern product suite. This 6-month contract position is instrumental in driving technical innovation and requires a blend of architectural insight and hands-on development expertise.

You'll collaborate closely with our engineering team to deliver high-quality solutions that exceed our product requirements. This role offers significant technical impact in a fast-paced environment, with potential for extension into a longer-term engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance software applications using C# and .NET framework for deployment on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Utilise React and TypeScript to build responsive and dynamic user interfaces, ensuring seamless user experience
  • Implement and maintain APIs, services, and systems across GCP infrastructure

Cloud Management

  • Leverage GCP services for optimising application performance and scalability
  • Manage cloud resources and ensure efficient deployment and operation of applications
  • Implement cloud security best practices and compliance measures

Code Quality and Collaboration

  • Uphold high standards of code quality and documentation
  • Conduct code reviews and implement automated testing frameworks
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and engineers
  • Lead and participate in architecture discussions and decision-making

Problem-Solving

  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
  • Optimise applications for maximum speed, scalability, and security
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and assess their applicability to current projects
Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with C# and .NET, TypeScript, and React
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Strong analytical mind with ability to solve complex technical issues
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently
  • Team player with a proactive, can-do attitude and collaborative approach
  • Flexible and adaptive to changing environments
  • Commercial and business awareness with attention to detail
  • Willingness to work in the office, located in Downtown Auckland CBD near many public transport options
