About the Role

As a Rehabilitation Assistant, youll play a key role in supporting patients to regain independence in their daily activities. Working under the direction of registered health practitioners, youll assist with rehabilitation programmes, provide equipment support, and help clients achieve their goals using a restorative approach. This role is casual, offering flexibility and variety while making a meaningful difference in peoples lives.

Youll work across the Hoki ki te Kāinga service, supporting safe and effective care that prioritises patient wellbeing and cultural safety.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Hoki ki te Kāinga is a community-focused service within Te Whatu Ora Te Matau a Māui Hawkes Bay, dedicated to helping patients transition safely from hospital to home. Our team works collaboratively to deliver holistic, whānau-centred care across the Hawkes Bay region.

About you

As a Rehabilitation Assistant, you will bring:

  • A willingness to work towards a Level 3 Health and Disability Qualification within two years.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • A full NZ drivers licence and confidence working independently in patients homes.
  • A positive, problem-solving attitude and commitment to high-quality care.
  • Experience in the health and disability sector or working with rehabilitation equipment (desired).
