An established, fast-growing New Zealand technology company is looking for a Senior Front-End Software Engineer to help scale and evolve a modern, customer-facing SaaS platform used by enterprise clients.

This is a hands-on senior role where you'll influence architecture, shape user experience, and work closely with Product, UX, and Engineering peers to deliver high-quality, observable, and scalable solutions.

What you'll be doing

  • Designing and building modern front-end applications with a strong focus on performance, usability, and scalability
  • Taking ownership of front-end architecture decisions in collaboration with Product and UX
  • Developing high-quality interfaces using React, TypeScript, , HTML, and CSS
  • Integrating seamlessly with backend services and APIs within a BFF-style architecture
  • Championing best practice around testing, CI/CD, security, and code quality
  • Shipping value frequently through small, well-considered releases
  • Mentoring and supporting other engineers, leading by example
  • Contributing to documentation, runbooks, and shared engineering standards

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years' experience building production-grade web applications
  • Strong commercial experience with React, TypeScript, , and modern CSS frameworks (e.g. Tailwind)
  • Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and backend services
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and front-end testing frameworks
  • Comfortable working in cloud-based environments (AWS or similar)
  • Ability to break down complex problems into deliverable, well-scoped work
  • A collaborative communicator who can discuss technical decisions in business and customer-value terms
  • A pragmatic engineer who balances clean architecture with shipping real outcomes
