About the role

We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager/Chef to join our vibrant team at Wairarapa Village in Masterton, Wellington. This is a full-time role that will see you leading our kitchen operations and ensuring the delivery of exceptional dining experiences for our residents and guests.

What you'll be doing

  • Plan, organise and oversee all kitchen operations to maintain high standards of food quality and service
  • Develop seasonal menus that cater to the diverse dietary needs and preferences of our residents
  • Roster and manage the kitchen team, ensuring effective training and development of staff
  • Monitor food costs and inventory to optimise efficiency and profitability
  • Ensure strict compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture in the kitchen

What we're looking for

  • Qualifications in Hospitality or Culinary Arts, with a minimum of 5 years' experience as a Chef or Kitchen Manager
  • Proven track record of leading a team in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment
  • Exceptional culinary and menu planning skills, with the ability to cater to a diverse range of dietary requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with residents, staff and suppliers
  • Passion for delivering high-quality dining experiences and a commitment to food safety and hygiene
  • Must hold a working/resident visa and able to start immediately.
