Dentons is part of the world's largest global law firm and a leading law firm in New Zealand. We have the largest global reach of any firm in New Zealand, with unparalleled access to legal expertise in over 80 countries. This expands not only to lawyers and clients, but also to global technology, learning and development, inclusion and equity initiatives and talent management. This means the opportunities are endless for our people
The role
Following an internal promotion, we're looking for a dedicated and energetic Events and Sponsorships Advisor to join our team – someone who thrives on bringing people together and creating impact through high-quality events and partnerships.
You'll play a key role in managing the firm's sponsorships, partnerships and events to build Dentons' profile in the market and support our growth ambitions. This includes developing and delivering event strategies, coordinating our participation in conferences, taking responsibility for award submissions, and ensuring we maximise the value of our sponsorships and collaborations.
Reporting to the Business Development Director, you'll also act as one of our brand champions, helping bring the firm's strategy to life through creative and well-executed initiatives. With Dentons in growth mode and an ambitious client strategy, there's real scope to bring fresh ideas and try new approaches that make an impact.
Day to day, you will be
- Managing the day to day the relationships and commitments with the firm's key partnerships and sponsorships.
- Plan, coordinate and deliver external events, webinars and internal functions to ensure the right level of attendance, brand recognition, messaging and engagement.
- Working with and supporting stakeholders on their participation in external conferences and industry events, coordinating attendance and materials, and ensuring strong visibility and return on investment.
- Communicating, written and verbal, with different audiences in mind and adapting your style accordingly
- Taking responsibility for the coordination, preparation and submission of award nominations
- Create and write profiling content for the firm's digital channels
- Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring consistent and effective use of the firm's brand across materials, templates and channels
- Working with the wider Business Development and Marketing team with data management to ensure marketing and communications lists are up to date and maintained for publications and events.
About you
You will join us with a minimum of five years' events and sponsorships experience, ideally gained within a professional services environment. You will have a practical, get things done attitude, strong written and verbal communication skills, and confidence using digital tools (InterAction (CRM), Sitecore (website), Vuture (e-marketing), MS Suite, Canva (design), Zoho Social (social media monitoring)). Key to the role is the ability to build effective relationships and interact confidently with people at all levels within the firm and externally. It goes without saying, you will need passion and energy for what you do along with excellent organisational and time management skills.
What do we offer?
We offer you the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and inclusive team that works in partnership with our clients, where you will get plenty of valuable experience as well as first class mentoring and career development. We are a future focussed firm and that ethos extends to our people too.
At Dentons, we can offer you top quality work matched with an outstanding firm culture. We offer competitive remuneration along with benefits that will make a positive difference to your work/life balance. Some of these benefits include
- $500 wellness payment annually to spend how you please
- Additional leave over the Christmas and New Year period
- Learning and development opportunities
- Lifestyle leave – ability to purchase additional leave each year
