We are seeking a reliable Field Operator (Grounds Maintenance) that shares our love of the great outdoors, possesses a can-do positive attitude and takes pride in their high standard of work. Our depot is based in Upper Hutt, and you will have the ability to gel with our team and be prepared to get stuck in and complete whatever tasks are required. You will enjoy being physically active as your days are kept busy with activities including pest plant management, roadside spraying, grid searching, scrub cutting, restoration planting and other field service programs. You will operate tools such as chainsaws, hedge trimmers, weed eaters, augers and QuikSpray Units, contributing to various grounds maintenance, environmental and biosecurity projects, assisting to ensure quality outcomes across all of our workstreams.

What you will bring (Minimum):

• Full NZ Driver License with the ability to operate a manual vehicle
• Ability to do early morning starts and have reliable transport to get to and from work
• Impressive ability to communicate and work well in our team
• A love of the outdoors in all types of terrain and weather
• An adaptable approach to change with a readiness to accept variety in the tasks required

What you will bring (Ideal but not essential):

• Experience using knapsacks, chainsaws and scrub cutters and hand tools
• Willingness to work away from the home base as required

New Zealand Biosecurity Services Limited (NZBSL) is one of New Zealand's leading biosecurity providers, offering environmental solutions across much of the industry. We are operationally focused and offer a range of services from pest plant control, restoration planting, pest animal control, biosecurity inspection activities and biosecurity responses.
