About us

OneLaw is a growing NZ-based software company, which provides specialist practice management software for NZ law firms. We are a small but successful team, with a head office in Christchurch and additional team members throughout NZ. We are open to someone in this role from Christchurch, Auckland or Wellington.

Our business is gaining momentum, and with 230+ firms now using our software, we have a great base and strong growth prospects. We are known for modern, innovative software and providing outstanding service (our support team receives a consistent 98-100% customer satisfaction rating). We have a lot of fun, don't take ourselves too seriously, and are looking for someone who will contribute positively to our current business and future goals.

About our role

We're looking for someone with strong legal industry experience (e.g. a practice manager or lawyer) ready to make a change in their career. You may have a background in sales or other commercial deals and have strong networks in legal practice. You will have strong relationship building skills (which may be in sales) and be confident in both outbound prospecting and efficient inbound actioning of enquiries and follow-ups. You will be dealing with NZ law firms and relevant partners - such as IT companies and buyers groups - so having real-life experience in legal practice management would be advantageous. You would be required to understand prospective clients needs and be able to demonstrate the value of OneLaw software in line with these.

Reporting into our Chief Operating Officer, you will be a key member of the team and help as we expand into new firms and territories. You will work alongside our sales and marketing team and the wider company to deliver on the sales strategy, collaborating closely to contribute to OneLaw's success. We are a team of highly experienced and established members and believe that we work best collectively. Sales training will be provided.

What you'll do

  • Prospect sales opportunities via outbound research and inbound market qualified leads
  • Lead discovery focused sessions with prospective customers identifying needs such as smart time recording tools, automated document templates, billing, trust accounting, document and email management, compliance and reporting
  • Develop strong product knowledge and proactively learn and seek training on new or priority products and offerings
  • Understand and clearly articulate the advantages of our OneLaw software and have strong competitor knowledge and awareness
  • Deliver tailored demonstrations to law firm partners, practice managers or trust accountants
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen to structure, negotiate and close sales confidently while offering the best possible levels of customer service and satisfaction
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with legal customers and law firms across the country
  • Contribute towards the success of the sales process and team achievements by continuous improvement and refinement of the sales strategy and goals

What you'll bring

  • Strong and confident people and customer service skills with a genuine desire to help
  • Prior legal practice management experience and good networks in legal practice preferred but other experience will also be considered
  • OneLaw software experience would be beneficial otherwise full training will be provided
  • A seasoned user of practice management software or 3+ years' experience in a similar full cycle sales role preferred
  • CRM experience or working in a sales or scheduling system
  • Some commercial experience managing contracts, pricing and closing deals would be beneficial
  • Good technical skills and ability to pick up a range of software quickly
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to understand and translate business pain points into product value
  • High levels of integrity and motivation, ability to build trust and be a collaborative team player
