The Opportunity

We're seeking a Chef de Partie to join our team at The Spire Hotel's elegant restaurant, No.5

You will prepare and deliver exceptional quality food and run a busy service, working either independently or as part of a team.  We are looking for hard-working and dedicated kitchen professionals, with creative flair and initiative, who are committed to upholding our high-quality standards and OH&S policies.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Sous Chef and kitchen team to prepare and deliver exceptional food
  • Uphold high-quality standards of preparation and presentation through cooking techniques and attention to detail
  • Communicate effectively with managers and front of house team.
  • Adhere to OH&S policies
  • Prepping for the following day, preserving food to OH&S standards
  • Assist with kitchen clean up at end of shift

As the successful candidate you will have:

  • 3+ previous experience working as a Chef de Partie or an NZ level 4 qualification in a related field
  • Must be able to work independently in the kitchen.
  • Must be competent simultaneously managing prep and service
  • Ambitious, enthusiastic and team player approach
  • Strong time management and communication skills
  • Flexibility in available hours, covering late nights and early mornings
