To be considered for this role, you must meet all of the following:

  • Passenger Endorsement (P Endorsement) on a full, clean NZ driver licence

  • Fluent, clear English — our tours rely heavily on storytelling and commentary.
  • Legally able to work in New Zealand — we cannot sponsor visas.
  • Able to work long days (up to 14 hrs) on your feet, driving, guiding and hosting.
  • Available for weekends and public holidays — part of the tourism world.
  • Genuinely warm, outgoing and hospitable — if you don't love talking to people, connecting with strangers or sharing stories, this job won't be enjoyable for you.

Who We're Looking For

We're gearing up for a huge summer and are hiring Guide/Drivers based in Auckland.

You'll host small groups (up to 16 guests) on day tours to:

  • Hobbiton
  • Waitomo Caves
  • Rotorua
  • Bay of Islands
  • Coromandel

Weekend work to start, with potential for additional weekday shifts as the season builds.

About You

You are:

  • Friendly, confident, talkative and able to make people feel welcome
  • A natural storyteller
  • Passionate about New Zealand, our culture, history and landscapes
  • Calm and professional behind the wheel
  • Able to engage a group while safely driving and giving commentary
  • Proud to deliver an exceptional guest experience every time

You must:

  • Already hold a NZ Passenger Endorsement
  • Have full rights to work in NZ
  • Speak fluent English
  • Be comfortable with long days, weekends and public holidays

Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Safely transport guests to and from tour locations
  • Provide commentary, local stories and cultural insights
  • Guide guests through attractions where required
  • Ensure every customer has a fun, safe, memorable day
  • Represent Cheeky Kiwi with warmth, enthusiasm and professionalism
