A rare and deeply rewarding opportunity awaits a female carer to join a private household as a Personal Support Companion for an intelligent and perceptive neurodiverse young woman in her early 20s.

This isn't a typical support role — you'll play a key part in helping her build confidence, independence, and everyday life skills, whilst advocating for safe, respectful, and empowering environments. You'll be a mentor, carer and companion, guiding her through daily routines, learning experiences, and social activities, helping her flourish with confidence.

About the role

You will provide dedicated, one-on-one support for a young woman, helping her navigate daily life while enhancing her personal growth and wellbeing. Success in this role requires emotional maturity, practical problem-solving, and the ability to balance structure with flexibility.

You'll work closely with her family, additional carers, and household staff to ensure seamless coordination of her care and activities. You'll also engage comfortably in formal and social settings, demonstrating discretion, etiquette, and professionalism at all times.

This is a role for someone who is calm, kind, practical, highly organised, and naturally brings positivity, curiosity, and warmth into every interaction.

Your Day-to-Day

Direct Support (2 days per week)

● Provide structured, compassionate companionship and guidance.

● Support with personal care, grooming, and presentation, maintaining dignity and confidence.

● Encourage independence through life skills, creative, and wellness activities.

● Accompany her to classes, appointments, and social engagements.

● Promote confidence in communication and social interactions.

● Administer and monitor medications accurately and responsibly.

Planning & Coordination (1 day per week)

● Manage and review academic, therapeutic, and social schedules.

● Liaise with family members, therapists, educators, and household staff.

● Plan and pack for domestic and international travel, ensuring preparedness.

● Lead a small team of carers, including rostering, check-ins, and performance oversight.

● Track and reconcile expenses accurately and responsibly.

Additional Responsibilities

● Provide cover for carers during leave or illness.

● Maintain a calm, structured, and professional household environment.

● Keep clear and detailed care records.

● Engage respectfully in a multi-generational, pet-friendly home.

About you

You are practical, solutions-focused, highly organised, and emotionally intelligent, with a genuine interest in supporting the growth of a young woman in a high-trust, private household environment.

You can act as a role model, able to relate to, guide, and inspire her. You understand the importance of discretion and professionalism, and you are comfortable navigating formal and social settings with grace.

You are well-presented, adaptable, and able to respond thoughtfully to the needs of the young woman in your care and those around her.

Essential skills attributes

● Experience supporting neurodiverse individuals or young adults.

● Strong communication and relationship building skills.

● Experience engaging in formal settings.

● Excellent organisation, time management, and problem-solving abilities.

● High personal standards of presentation and conduct.

● Calm, adaptable, and reliable under pressure.

● Current First Aid certification and Police Check (or willingness to obtain).

● Clean driver's license (vehicle provided during work hours).

● Availability for domestic and international travel.

Preferred background

● Background in psychology, education, youth work, au pair, disability support, or similar.

● Experience coordinating travel, schedules, and budgets.

● Understanding of family dynamics and confidentiality in private household settings.
