The Opportunity
We are seeking a results-driven Regional Manager to lead our Christchurch branch. This key appointment is perfect for an ambitious operations leader with strong experience in traffic management, construction, or roading operations – and a demonstrated ability to drive business development and expansion.
What You'll Do
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Traffic Controllers, STMS, Forepersons, and admin staff
- Drive operational best practice ensuring all projects meet compliance, TMP, and NZTA safety requirements
- Manage full P&L responsibility including budgeting, forecasting, financial tracking, and resource optimisation
- Build and manage strong client relationships with local councils, government agencies, and contractors
- Develop and execute branch-level business development strategies to grow revenue and service reach
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities across Canterbury—including responding to tenders and preparing commercial proposals
- Research new market segments and build pipelines of potential clients and industry partners
- Attend local industry events and represent AVADA in the community to further market presence
- Track business development KPIs and regularly report on growth initiatives, lead conversion, and client feedback
- Foster a high-performance, safe, and collaborative team culture
About You
- 5+ years' experience in Traffic Management, Civil Construction, Infrastructure, or as an Operations/Regional Manager
- Proven business development, sales, or client acquisition expertise in the traffic, roading, or construction sector
- Strong knowledge of TMP processes, New Zealand compliance standards, and industry best practice
- Commercial acumen—confident managing budgets, identifying opportunities, and driving profitability
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and client relationship skills
- Familiarity with CRM/scheduling software (Traffio or similar), and proficiency in Office 365
- Recognised industry relationships across Canterbury or Christchurch a strong advantage
- Full NZ Class 1 Driver Licence (required)
