About the role

We are looking for a Senior Desktop Engineer, to provide 2nd to 3rd level support of the customers End User Computing Environment.

This Environment includes:

  • Operating System and End Point Management client software
  • Nominated Fujitsu supported Applications and Peripherals.
  • PC systems and peripherals
  • Printer systems

This role reports into Squad Manager and offers hybrid working. Auckland location preferred but flexible across Wellington and Christchurch.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The key responsibilities and associated duties of the position fall into the following main areas:

  • Act as Level 2–3 escalation for end-user computing issues, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Own and manage incidents through to resolution, leveraging ITIL processes and service delivery standards.
  • Support system management tools and processes (AV updates, backups, monitoring, access).
  • Collaborate with teams to implement changes, review peer work, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Identify and drive service improvement initiatives.
  • Manage small projects related to systems and services.
  • Maintain strong communication with customers and internal teams, presenting Fujitsu as One.
  • Stay current with technical standards and continuously enhance skills.
  • This role will also carry out other duties as may be specified from time to time by the Squad Manager

Requirements and Experience

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • 5+ years in end-user technology support and troubleshooting (Windows, Apple, iOS, Android).
  • Experience with SCCM, ServiceNow, and endpoint management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of O365, Active Directory, and scripting (PowerShell, VBScript).
  • ITIL v4 Foundations Certification; MCP and Cert IV in IT or higher.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to obtain NZ government clearance and pass police checks.

Qualification Requirements

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Apple MAC, IOS and Android Operating Systems,
  • Experience with a range of end user management tools including but not limited to SCCM.
  • Experience with Service Now.
  • 5+ years troubleshooting and maintaining PCs in a Windows environment.
  • 5+ years experience with end user technology support.
  • Previous experience is managing teams or staff.
  • Cert IV Information Technology or higher
  • MCP
  • ITIL v4 Foundations Certification

Desired Experience, Other Knowledge & Attributes

  • 5+ years troubleshooting and maintaining PCs in a Windows environment.
  • 5+ years experience with end user technology support
  • Windows family of Operating Systems
  • Strong O365, knowledge
  • Proven MS Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
  • M365 Fundamentals
  • Experience with SOE principles, LAN environments, and incident/problem management.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to mentor junior staff.
  • Analytical mindset with a can-do attitude.
