Tend is a modern GP practice with multiple clinics in Christchurch. We are hiring for a Primary Care Assistant (PCA) for our Beckford clinic.

You will be tasked with the initial patient interaction, medical admin, assisting clinicians & general in clinic duties. This will be a 0.8FTE or 4 day per week role. 

We offer a competitive salary with ability to grow your career as our PCA's play a vital role in the delivery of our healthcare services. This is a full time permanent position. You will be responsible for:

  • Managing and re-stocking equipment and linen in the clinic
  • Keeping clinical areas tidy
  • Assisting with Minor Procedures 
  • Chaperoning examinations as needed
  • Onboarding New Patients 
  • Opportunistically updating patient information and measurements as per scope
  • Communicating with patients via. Telephone, messaging and face to face. 
  • Support achieving clinical performance targets and audits with support from the Clinical Nurse Lead. 

We have a diverse range of clinicians & experienced non-clinical team working onsite at our newly renovated clinic. 

Experience Required: 

  • NZQA qualification at level 3 or equivalent/above
  • Preference for NZQA Level 4 NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or willingness to work towards
  • Previous work experience in a healthcare setting, preferred.
  • Strong learning ability and agility to work in a dynamic environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across multiple channels, including in-person, messaging software(s), phone and digital platforms
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task in a busy environment
