The Key Account Manager plays a key role in supporting the Foodstuffs South Island account. The focus of the role is to drive growth, hit sales and financial targets, and build strong, long-lasting relationships with the customer. You'll work closely with both internal teams and FSSI to develop and deliver joint business plans that support shared goals and create real value for both sides.

A big part of the job is planning and delivering effective business activity – from promotional programs to category reviews. You'll look for opportunities to grow the product range, keep pricing and promotional strategies on track, and make sure plans are executed well in market. You'll also help keep demand forecasts accurate and work with different teams to keep things running smoothly.

On the financial side, you'll be responsible for meeting volume, margin, and overall sales targets. You'll keep a close eye on trade spend to make sure it's delivering good returns, manage promotional accruals, and support planning processes. Staying within budget and finding smarter ways to improve results is an important part of the role.

Building strong customer relationships is at the heart of this position. You'll work closely with FSSI category managers and other key contacts, keeping communication clear and consistent. You'll review performance together, look at what's working, and manage new product development to make sure launches go well. You'll also keep an eye out for new opportunities to grow business across both existing and new categories.

You'll be expected to bring positive leadership behaviours, stay committed to your own development, and contribute to a safe working environment. Strong communication skills, solid commercial thinking, negotiation ability, and confidence using tools like Microsoft Office, Circana/IRI, Tableau, and SAP will help you succeed. Experience in FMCG account management or field sales—ideally in New Zealand—is essential, and a business-related qualification is a bonus.
