Turftech is a leading specialist in school grounds and sports turf maintenance and management. Established in 1998, we employ over 40 staff and specialise in long term maintenance of school grounds, including live and synthetic turf, garden and tree care.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Groundsperson who will be responsible for all maintenance of sports fields, cricket wickets, hard surfaces, lawns and gardens at Mount Roskill Grammar School in Mount Roskill. You will be employed by Turftech and working on site at Mount Roskill Grammar School every day. The role is full time and 40 hours a week, normally between 6.30am and 3pm.

You will be working closely with the school Property Manager on day-to-day priorities to make sure needs are met. Responsibilities will include mowing, fertilizer and chemical applications, disease recognition and treatment, preparation of cricket wickets and sports field marking.

Seasonal renovations of cricket wickets and sports fields will also be part of this role and this will be a joint effort with Turftech's renovation team.

You will be managing two staff to coordinate daily maintenance of sports fields, garden and lawn maintenance, including planting, weeding and pruning, pest and disease control. You will also be responsible for budgets and regular reporting.

About You

A can-do attitude and strong work ethic is essential in this role.

You will be working at Mount Roskill Grammar School every day but working closely with the Turftech team and School Contracts Manager. The ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions day to day is important.

Good experience managing green spaces and cricket wickets is essential. A turf qualification or relevant study in agriculture, landscaping or horticulture is preferred.
