Compliance and EHSR Advisor

Oji Fibre Solutions is one of New Zealand's leading manufacturers and suppliers of packaging solutions to a wide range of industries throughout the country.

Our customers include blue chip manufacturers and marketers of packaging products to the food, primary produce, industrial and grocery sectors. This role is based at our Specialty Boards plant in Frankton, Hamilton. The business supplies short-run and specialty packaging to customers both locally and internationally.

Our Compliance and EHSR Advisor has been seconded into another role within the organisation for a fixed-term period. We require an experienced Compliance and EHSR Advisor to maintain the role which forms a vital focus for our business.

Reporting to the Facility Manager, you will be responsible for administering and coordinating various site compliance and EHSR functions for Oji Speciality Boards, maintaining our best practice systems and procedures.

You will be primarily responsible for:

• Maintaining accreditation standards, internal audits, and supplier audits
• Implementing, maintaining, and coordinating all EHSR activities
• Providing injury management support
• Managing the EHSR Improvement Plan
• Training and developing the EHSR capability on-site and at various off-site locations
• Maintaining and managing the Quality Management System and certification of ISO 9001
• Managing all customer complaints and GRNs
• Maintaining site compliance with all council regulations, legislation, and Oji Fibre Solutions policies and procedures
• All associated reporting

You will need:

• Three-plus years' hands-on EHSR/compliance experience within a medium to large manufacturing business
• Sound EHSR knowledge of legislative requirements
• Experience with environmental improvement plans, risk continuation, occupational health and safety, process safety, emergency preparedness, and site security
• EH&S Certificate Level 3 minimum requirement or relevant tertiary qualification ideal
• Passion for safety, innate leadership ability, and drive for change
• Ability to influence and communicate with a wide range of people
• Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and analytical ability
• Experience with quality and compliance systems
• Ability to travel to off-site locations and conferences throughout the year
• Strong computer literacy
