Birkenhead, New Zealand Positive People Full time

Are you a Registered Nurse looking for a new challenge that broadens your professional horizons?

Join our small, dedicated clinical research team, and take your nursing career in an exciting new direction, combining patient care with the hopeful potentials of medical research.

As a Research Nurse Coordinator with Waitemata Clinical Research, you'll enjoy a Monday – Friday, days-only role – getting away from shift work to find the balance you've been looking for. You'll play a pivotal role in coordinating and supporting clinical trials, working with a collaborative team that contributes to research making a real impact, while maintaining the person-centred approach that defines great nursing practice.

Why You'll Love This Role

  • Flexibility that fits your life – We understand the importance of balance, and can accommodate regular working hours of between 30 and 40 hours per week, depending on your preference. You'll enjoy flexibility rarely found elsewhere in the nursing sector, and an environment that supports both professional and personal commitments.
  • Grow your skillset – This role offers a unique opportunity for Registered Nurses to gain experience in research coordination, clinical trials, and regulatory processes – with full support and training provided.
  • Meaningful work – Contribute to advancing healthcare and improving patient outcomes through ethically conducted, high-quality clinical research.
  • Supportive environment – Work alongside experienced investigators, research professionals, and a friendly multi-disciplinary team committed to excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate and prepare clinical research visits and study procedures.
  • Ensure participant safety, wellbeing, and accurate data collection throughout studies.
  • Perform nursing duties within the scope of research trials, including duties such as consent processes, sample collection, ECGs, vital signs, and medication administration.
  • Collaborate with investigators, clinical monitors, and study sponsors to ensure compliance and smooth study conduct.
  • Maintain meticulous study documentation and contribute to continuous quality improvement.

What You'll Bring

  • Current New Zealand Nursing Council Practising Certificate (essential).
  • Minimum of two years post-graduate nursing experience.
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills.
  • A proactive, adaptable approach to learning and teamwork.
  • Prior research experience is an advantage, but not essential – full training and mentorship will be provided.

This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of something bigger – where your clinical expertise contributes directly to the development of new treatments and improved patient care.

If you're a Registered Nurse ready to expand your professional scope and take on a rewarding challenge, we'd love to hear from you.

Applications will be processed as they are received, so Apply now to ensure you have the opportunity to be considered for the role.
